This tour takes us through a beautiful part of the river filled with exciting white water rapids and beautiful ponds, all surrounded by a wonderful natural scenery. Class IV Rafting; This tour is an amazing experience filled with excitement, adventure and adrenaline. Class IV Rapids are recommended only for people with previous experience in rafting, because they are filled with exciting and difficult rapids. Class II Rafting; This tour begins in a beautiful private property called La Linda, where ornamental plants are grown for exportation. The complete tour lasts for 1:30 hours to 2 hours, all the way to the facilities of Adventures of Sarapiquí, where the trip ends, and it runs for a distance of about 9 kilometers (5.5 miles). Pneumatics (River Tubing); Traveling on pneumatics (tubes) through rivers is an activity practiced by many rural areas of the country and Sarapiquí is a great example of that, that’s why we offer you the opportunity to enjoy this fun and safe activity. Safari or Floating; This tour begins in the community known as Chilamate, where the facilities of Adventures of Sarapiquí are located, and it ends in Puerto Viejo of Sarapiquí. Canopy “Zipline” Tour; During this trip you will enjoy incredible passages through fields of ornamental plants, an exciting tropical rainforest of 114 hectares, as well as the magnificent Sarapiqui River, which we will cross two times during the trip. Mountain Biking; Early in the morning at our facilities located in Chilamate of Sarapiquí, only 90 minutes from San José, plans are made for a day filled with adventure: first is getting all the necessary equipment for the trip ready such as clothes, water, adjusting the bikes for each member of the group and finally a small talk about the route we will be taking on the tour. Canoeing; This tour starts on a private farm about 20 minutes from the town of Puerto Viejo and ends in the city of Puerto Viejo. You will be given a life jacket, helmet and a paddle… and yes you will be expected to paddle, a little. The guides will show you how to paddle and give you instructions on basic river safety. Rainforest Hiking Tours; During the walk you will be traveling upon 9 km (5.5 miles) of trails suited to be accessible to people of all ages. This system of trails is within a protected area that consists of over 346 acres of magnificent tropical forest. In the company of a local guide, you will begin the journey in the gardens of the reserve and as you hike you will discover the many wonders of the rainforest and the different habitats that the animals of the forest inhabit. Horseback Riding; Only 10 minutes from our office on a private ranch you can enjoy a wonderful tour on horseback. Upon arrival you will be met by the head rancher who will accompany you throughout this journey. Once the horses are assigned to each group member you will be given an introductory talk on how to ride horses, in case you don’t have previous experience. Prior experience is not required whatsoever and it will not be a problem if you don’t have any for this ride. River Kayak; From beginners at our Kayak School learning peel outs and ferry angles, to more advanced kayakers, everyone can enjoy the many sections of our nice river Osa Kayak Tour; The tour starts in Jimenez Beach. After a good informative sea-kayaking techniques lesson, and safety talk, kayakers will slowly start paddling into the Preciosa and Platanares Wildlife and Mangroves Reserve.
