There are several ways to access the park, but it is difficult to get even if you have your own transport, go by taxi or are on foot. The forest rangers can pick visitors up in Bagaces; providing you notify them at the ACT office. The most used road begins in Bagaces, at a height, where there is an exit on the Interamerican, from where you will have to follow the signs to the park via a gravel road. After 28Km you will arrive at the park, where you will need to pay an entry fee. At 8 Km you will find the Guayacán hill, a limestone hill that offers excellent views. It is here where the Biological Investigation Post is located OET, a few kilometers away are the Park Offices and the Forest Outpost. The road is transitable throughout the year, the route from the Interamerican to the Lomas de Barbudal Biological Reserve, that surrounds the post, the route to Bagaces – Palo Verde is close to the Park Entrance, which makes it possible to visit both areas without returning to the Interamerican. There are boats that enter the park via the Cipanci Refuge.
