40)  LA CASCADA – PLAYA MONTEZUMA:

This is a right wave, coming out of a rock. Its a short ride – only one maneuver and best to get out of the wave early or you risk falling on the rocks. It’s in front of the mouth of the Montezuma River, in front of Hotel Amor de Mar. Access: By land at the mouth of the Montezuma River. Tide: low to medium Swell: South- Southeast. Depth: Rocks. Feet: 2 to 4. Season: Winter and with lunar movement. Stars: 2.

In general, all of these Surf Spots are reefs and best to surf at high tide. Look for some experienced local friends to give you tips, and always respect the surf space of locals. If the waves are big dangerously strong rip tides can occur, so always go with caution.

41)  LAS PANGAS – PLAYA MONTEZUMA:

This is a right wave on a reef, with a peak that breaks with a short wall and a lot of force. Access: by land on Montezuma beach, in front of Hotel Moctezuma, it moves better with the moon and current, the exciting thing about this wave is to come down it. Tide: works best in high tide. Swell: with southern currents. Depth: Rocks and Sand. Feet: 4 to 8. Season: only in winter, depending on the current from June to February, other seasons are possible but not consistent. Stars: 3
