Santa Teresa Beach
This has a beach break that picks up a lot of waves. There are good rights and lefts that break better at low tide. Santa Teresa has gone from being a close guarded secret to being a very busy beach in the past few years. It has the cleanest and best formed breaks. There are cabins a short distance away from the beach, Camping and Restaurant Roca Mar, just in front of this area known as Suck Rock it is very dangerous for beginners. They are ideal to go surfing, located 3 kilometers from the Mal País crossing. They are surrounded by exuberant vegetation, where you will be able to see Congo Monkeys and a variety of birds and some mammals. It can be found with signs indicating the speed 25 km per hour. The main characteristic of this zone is that it is very exposed to the waves and to all the directions, for this reason it has waves the 365 days of the year. It is perhaps one of the most constantan beach of Costa Rica along with Hermosa Beach – Jaco. Beach of white sand, with clean and clear water, surrounded by a great amount of trees that give shade throughout the road. The waves break well in all the tides. They have three important accesses to the beach: next to Brunela B & B, next to the Hotel Point Break and in the entrance to Camping Roca Mar the point of Suck Rock. The only access by car until the beach is entering by the Hotel Point Break, from this point they can check the best break of the day, and leave the your car to go surfing. On Sunday two departures from Mal País to San José 8:00 a.m with ferry transportation 10:30 a.m and arriving in San José at 12:00 m.d. / 2:30 p.m ferry transportation 4:30 a.m and arriving in San José 8:00 p.m. The journey from San José is via the Puntarenas ferry terminal. Paquera, Tambor, Cobano, Montezuma and Mal País. Buses are given priority on the ferry along with their passengers and luggage. The vehicles are modern 2006 Marcopolo Scania, with covered reclining seats, Air Conditioning and television. The tariffs only include the bus pass.
