Located in Las delicias de Cobano, 7 Km from Cobano, 4 Km from Montezuma and 8 Km from Mal País. In the village of “Las delicias” it is located 150 meters to the southeast of Las Delicias grocery store. Claudio Cruz Sibaja known as “Chichi” and his wife Cecilia Rodríguez, has dedicated himself to this job for the past 63 years, as his father had experience in with oxen, Chichi inherited this from his father. The procedure is the following: Cut the cane, strip it, squeeze it for its juice, boil it until it is a liquid taking out all its impurities, it is called “Cachaza”, the honey is left to stand until it thickens to become the famous “Tapa de dulce”. After it is placed in the trouch it is then passed to the molds so that it can eaten. “Tapa de dulce” is used to make drinks with lemosn, wheat as well as coconut treats. From this same honey they make food such as taffy, sobado (a mild sweet). Block is called “Alfañique” or “Perico”, it is used to make desserts or drinks with water. A glass of juice is high in calories and is very filling. The property has an extension of 10 hectares, where we will find, plants, trees, monkeys, birds, streams, 2 water springs where you can bathe, footpaths where you can go on walks for half an hour whilst you wait for the Trapiche process to finish. Includes refreshments, fruits and empanadas Tico style. You can buy Tapas de dulce, taffy and sobao. It is closed during thw winter and there are no visitors.
How to arrive and leave: If you are in Cobano 7 Km, on the road to the southeast at the first entrante on the right hand side of the cemetery, then continue straight without taking and turnoffis until you get to the third street with another cemetery on the right hand side, continue until you get to the grocery stores Las Delicias, after some 150 meters southeast. If you come from Montezuma to 4 Km go up a hill towards an entrante of a waterfall, continue to the first entrante on the left hand side, you will then pass over a narrow iron bridge which is yellow in color, continue onto the right, after you go up without taking any turnoffs until you get to Las Delicias, after some 150 meters to the southeast.
