Conchal Beach

It is a type of bay that is located 2km to the south of Brasilito, it is 1.5 kilometers long, and is named Conchal because of the large amount of shells that can be found in the sand.  The clarity of the water is inviting for those who enjoy snorkeling, and there is a large hotel at the extreme north of the beach.

 

How to arrive and leave

290 km from San José to Real Beach, you can arrive on land via or by air using the Tamarindo or Liberia airport; you do not need a 4×4. Take the Interamerican highway toward the north, arrive at the city of Liberia on your left, travel 30 Km until you get to the village of Belén, passing by Filadelfia, and continue the route towards Flamingo Beach. You will pass by the villages of Cartagena and Portogolpe. Continue for a further 26 km heading towards Huacas, turn as if you were going to Tamarindo beach until you get to Matapalo village, take a right turn at the Plaza de Deportes in Matapalo and continue in the direction towards Conchal Beach, until you arrive at El Cóndor Hotel after 3Km take a left turn, you will then arrive at Real Beach The road is in very good condition, until you reach the village of Matapalo, the last 9Km is gravel but it is in good condition.  Its location gives visitors an opportunity to enjoy tours to the nesting areas of the Baula Turtle in season, right on the beach. There are also many water sports you can practice here as well as on land excursion on horseback on the beach or to the mountain.
