Cobano village is located in the south of the Península of Nicoya in the Provincia of Puntarenas; it was a small and quiet village where tourists can visits the pacific coasts.  All of the highways go towards Playa Mal País, Playa Santa Teresa, Playa Cabuya and Playa Montezuma and they go through this village. You can also visit the marvelous Cabo Blanco National Park.  To get to Cobano the best thing to do is fly to the village from Tambor from the capital of San José, which is a journey of 20 to 25 minutes. From there you can take a bus or rent a car and drive until you get to Cobano, or you can get to the city of  Puntarenas from San José and there you can take a ferry to Paquera, and you can drive to Cobano vía Tambor. In the months of Febuary and March, the major attraction of the village is the yearly rodeo that lasts three days and which begins with a horseback ride. There is also a great fayre where you can go horseriding. There is a lot of dancing and a lot of food. Bus terminal in Coca Cola, with two departures from San José to Mal País from Monday to Sunday 7:30 a.m with ferry transportation 10:30 a.m and arriving at Mal País 1:30 p.m/ 3:30 p.m ferry transportation 6:30 p.m and arriving at Mal País 09:30 p.m, cost 10.20 US$, the ticket and parcel office is on the west side of the terminal. In Mal País the terminal is at the side of Hotel Frank’s Place, with two departures from Mal País to San José from Monday to Saturday 04:30 a.m. ferry transportation 6:30 a.m and arriving in San José 10:15 a.m/ 2:30 p.m with ferry transportation 4:30 p.m and arriving from San José 8:00 p.m, costing 10.20 US$. On Sunday two departures from Mal País to San José 8:00 a.m with ferry transportation 10:30 a.m and arriving in San José at 12:00 m.d. / 2:30 p.m ferry transportation 04:30 a.m and arriving in San José 8:00 p.m. The journey from San José is via the Puntarenas ferry terminal. Paquera, Tambor, Cobano, Montezuma and Mal País. Buses are given priority on the ferry along with their passengers and luggage. The buses from Cobano leave at 9:15 a.m, 10:30 a.m, 11:30 a.m, 2:30 p.m., 3:15 p.m and 06:30 p.m. Departures to Santa Teresa. Schedule: 06:45 a.m and 11:15 a.m. Departures to Mal País. Schedule: 7:00 a.m and 11:30 a.m. There are buses that leave from Frank’s Place or El Cruce at 7:15 a.m, 8:30 a.m, 10:45 a.m, 11:40 a.m, 1:15 p.m and 3:45 p.m. The price of a taxi from Cobano is 15 US$.
